Upward Bound (UB) is a federally funded pre-college program for high school freshman, juniors, sophomores, and seniors. UB has a proven track record of helping students enroll in and successfully complete college.

3 Components of Upward Bound

The Academic Year Component

During the Fall and Spring semesters, students attend Saturday tutoring sessions.

The Summer Component

Six-week program in which our students live in the ASU residence halls.

The Bridge Component

This component helps introduce recent high school graduates to college. Students are enrolled in two college summer classes immediately following their high school graduation. Upward Bound pays their tuition, room and board, and books.

Participants are expected to fully participate in each component.
