The Learning Support Center provides the most comprehensive tutoring services at ASU. However, several other programs across campus offer assistance to special populations or in subjects not offered in the LSC. Please see the links below to determine alternatives to best meet your needs.
Languages Multimedia Center
The Department of Languages has a multi-media Language Lab equipped with student computers and a networked laser printer. During tutoring/walk-in hours, students may use the computers, including software that accompanies the textbook Panorama. A satellite television with many Spanish-language stations and French TV5 are available for viewing during tutoring and walk-in hours.
Student Support Services
Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program designed to promote retention and academic success in college. SSS provides participants with academic and support services including tutoring, academic advising, counseling, mentoring, workshops, and cultural enrichment trips. To be considered for SSS a student must be a US citizen or national or meet the residence requirements for federal student aid and have a need for academic support. A student must also be either a first generation college student and/or meet income guidelines and/or be an individual with a disability.
Student Athlete Academic Success Center
The Student-Athlete Academic Success Center is located in the Performance Enhancement Complex and serves as a resource center to assist student-athletes in various aspects of their academic, athletic and personal lives. The Center offers student-athletes several avenues to success through tutoring, career planning, mentoring and community service.
The International Center for English
The International Center for English (TICE) offers free tutoring and academic assistance to all undergraduate and graduate international students. TICE can assist with writing, reading comprehension or any other language related challenges students may have, no matter the subject.
The Beck PRIDE Center
The Beck PRIDE Center focuses on personal rehabilitation, individual development and education for wounded veterans by offering educational assistance, speech-language and physical therapy, mental health services including a combat veteran support group, mentoring, and other social services. Beck PRIDE additionally provides academic tutoring services to wounded veterans.
The Writing Lab
The Writing Lab is run by the ASU English Department in collaboration with Learning Support Services, and it holds a unique purpose at ASU. The Writing Lab is the only computer facility on campus that is staffed by trained writing tutors (most of whom are ASU English graduate students) to aid you in your own writing. Our hours vary from semester to semester, but they are always posted on the lab door (LIB 106) and on the website. All ASU students are welcome to visit for writing help, computer use, Internet research, and e-mail access.
