Biography

Melissa Jackson was born and raised in Osceola, Arkansas, but currently resides in Jonesboro with her husband, Perry and their sons, Zanthanee and Zhedrick. Melissa is a three-time graduate of Arkansas State University earning her Bachelor of Arts in Oral Communication and Theatre Arts in 2004, Master of Arts in Communication Studies in 2005, and Specialist Degree in Community College Education in 2006. She is currently working to complete her dissertation and obtain a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. Melissa joined the Wilson Advising Center in 2006 as an Academic Advisor and has since become the Director of the Center. She finds her job to be intrinsically rewarding because it provides the opportunity to make a difference. In addition to her primary role at the University, Melissa serves as an instructor for the College of Media and Communications and as the Advisor for the Campus Gospel Choir United Voices. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, decorating, coordinating special events, traveling, serving in her church and spending time with her family.
