Qualifications for Receiving Scholarship
- Recipient shall be from underprivileged background.
- Recipient shall demonstrate ability to successfully complete a college education majoring in the areas of biological sciences, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, physics, nursing and health professions.
- Recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student.
- Recipient must be Sophomore level or higher and have an overall GPA of 3.0.
Qualifications for Maintaining Scholarship
May reapply if GPA of 3.0 is maintained and major remains in one of the designated areas.

Biological Sciences Majors
Biological Sciences Scholarship
ASU Foundation, Inc.
Amount and Term of Award
$1250 per academic year, payable at $625 per academic semester.
Qualifications for Receiving Scholarship
- Sophomore or junior, majoring in Biological Science, BSE Biology Emphasis or BS Wildlife Management. Students with pre-professional emphasis are not eligible.
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or above, (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) with a minimum of 3.0 in major.
- Must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of courses in the Department of Biological Sciences.
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student during the semesters in which the scholarship is awarded.
- Active participation in biology related professional organizations (membership, attendence, offices held and committee assignments).
- Undergraduate research (e.g. participation/abstracts and /or presentations).
- If eligibility requirements are met by several applicants, preference will be given to individuals strong in all catagories.

$1250 per academic year, payable at $625 per academic semester.
Qualifications for Receiving Scholarship
- Non-traditional sophomore or junior students majoring in Biology, Wildlife Ecology and Management, or General Science: Biology Emphasis. A non-traditional student is one who did not enter college directly from high-school, or has returned to college after a break of more than two years.
- Students pursing a BS degree in Biology with a pre-professional emphasis are not eligible for this award.
- Eligible students must have a minimum of 16 credits in Biology and a GPA of 3.0 or greater in their major.

May reapply for a maximum of four semesters for juniors, two semesters for seniors.

Qualifications for Receiving Scholarship
- Incoming freshmen with preference to pre-medicine major (if no qualified applicants, may be awarded to a student in a related area such as pre-pharmacy, nursing, health professions, etc.).
- An ACT of 32 recommended (minimum of 25); upper 5% of high school class or National Merit semi-finalist.
- Arkansas resident with preference to the Jonesboro area.
- Need may be given consideration.
Qualifications for Maintaining Scholarship
May be renewed for three additional years if student continues to be a full-time pre-med major with a 3.5 overall grade point average.
