Biography

Dr. Edgar has served as Director of the Mechanical Engineering program since January 2003, and has been a member of the ASU College of Engineering faculty since January 1995.  Dr. Edgar's area of expertise is computational mechanics with extensions to nonlinear problems in thermal/fluid sciences and solid mechanics.  His research has been sponsored by NASA, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, regional industry and also spent four summers as a faculty fellow at the Air Force Research Lab on the Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH.  Dr. Edgar currently serves as faculty advisor for the ASU student chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
