Biography

Captain Timothy Durham was born in Moline, Illinois on 19 November 1970. He graduated from high school in Strawberry, AR (Now Hillcrest School) in 1989. He graduated from Arkansas State University in 1995, where he received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant, branching Field Artillery. Captain Durham spent the first five years of his Army career on active duty at Fort Sill, OK. Following his initial five years, he joined the Arkansas National Guard until 2010, at which point he transferred to the United States Reserve Component.

Captain Durham's first assignment was as a Platoon Leader in the 2nd Battalion, 4th Field Artillery at Fort Sill, OK. His subsequent positions during his active duty time included Battery Operations Officer, Asisstant Battalion Operations Officer and Battalion Adjutant. Upon his transfer to the Arkansas National Guard he has served as Fire Support Officer in the 25th Rear Operations Center, 87th Troop Command. During the same time frame he transferred to the Arkansas National Guard, he was hired by MPRI (Later COMTEK) as an Assistant Professor of Military Science. In March 2003 he was mobilized with his unit to Fort Hood, TX for three months where he served as III Corps augmentee staff during their deployment.

In October of 2005 he was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Facilities Engineer for a Forward Operating Base. After returning to the states in November of 2006 he resumed his duties as Fire Support Officer until February of 2010 when he took over a Reserve Component position as a S1/S4 in a TASS unit at Milington, TN. Captain Durham continues to serve as an Assistant Professor of Military Science as a contractor at ASU.

Captain Durham's awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), The Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), The Iraqi Campaign Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Reserve Component Achievement Medal and the Army Parachutists Badge
He is married to the former Melanie McClung of Paragould, AR. Tim and Melanie have three children, Hunter (16), Dalton (15), and Anastasia (8)
