Biography
Alyson A. Gill is associate professor of Art History at Arkansas State University. Prior to her graduate work at UC-Irvine, Gill worked at Isthmia focusing on uncovering comparanda for the Greek bath at Isthmia, which led to her dissertation "Balaneia: A Sourcebook for the Greek Bath from the Archaic through the Hellenistic Periods." Gill received a Fulbright grant (1998/99) to conduct research at the American School of Classical Studies, and has received multiple grants for teaching and research, including an NEH Digital Humanities Start-Up Grant in April 2007.
Gill's publications include "Mediating Difference in Classical Antiquity: The Greek Sanctuary Bath," The Southeastern College Art Conference Review 15, no. 1 (2006): 16-22, and Aphrodite's Bath: Mediating Difference in Classical Antiquity," in Themes in European History: Essays from the 2nd International Conference on European History, Nicholas C.
