Biography

Dr. Jeong joined as member of the faculty at A-State in 2010 and currently serves as tenured Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR.  He completed his doctoral and postdoctoral research under Dr. Edward Levy and Dr. Hugo Caram at Energy Research Center of Lehigh University from 2006 to 2010.  He has significant engineering experience in power industry as Senior Member of Technical Staff in KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation) from 1996 to 2006.  His professional interests are in engineering design and development for full-scale fuel and energy systems using computational and experimental techniques with expertise of combustion, reaction, heat and mass transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, separation, and phase change.

Dr. Jeong recently completed two DOE projects including a) Novel Sorption Enhanced Reaction Process for Simultaneous Production of CO2 and H2 from Synthesis Gas Produced by Coal Gasification and b) Heat and Water Recovery from Power Plant.  His research has been funded by DOE, NSF, and power companies. His current research topic is Development of Predictive Modeling for Ash Deposition in Post-Boiler Equipment for Supercritical Pulverized Coal-Fired Power Plant Applications.  Dr. Jeong received the Faculty Achievement Award for Excellence in Scholarship from Arkansas State University in 2015.  He won the Presidential Award for Distinguished Technology Commercialization from KEPCO in 1999.
