Research Interests

Dr. Segall's research interests include data mining, text mining, web mining, bioinformatics, and mathematical modeling. He is the author or co-author of over 29 journal articles, 10 chapters of books, 50 conference proceedings, 14 technical reports, recipient of numerous grants including that for software from ORACLE Corporation and SAS Institute, Inc., and has co-edited a book titled: "Visual Analytics and Interactive Technologies: Data, Text and Web Mining Applications that was published by IGI Global in 2011."

Dr. Segall has taught over 20 years at several universities including that of Texas Tech University, University of Louisville, University of New Hampshire, University of Massachusetts-Lowell, and West Virginia University. He is also the recipient of three research awards from the National Research Council (NRC) that has funded his research at Brooks AFB in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Segall also has received funding from the Arkansas Biosciences Institute (ABI) and is currently a member of the Arkansas Center for Plant-Powered Production (P3) Center.
