The Teacher Education Program provides a rigorous training that is designed to equip our students to be successful teachers. Graduates of our program enter the classroom ready to make a difference in the lives of their students.
Impacting students lives
Our students have many opportunities to observe, teach and work with students and classroom teachers in the public schools and childcare settings. From the onset of the program, the Introduction to Teaching class, until the end of internship, students have a variety of experiences and are given numerous opportunities to practice emerging teaching skills. Under the supervision of experienced classroom teachers and university faculty, they are provided with meaningful feedback that helps them to grow in their professional practice.
SPARKS is a selective review journal for individuals interested in recently published children's books. It allows individuals to become acquainted with books suitable for children reading. After reviews are completed, the books are housed in the juvenile collection of the Dean B. Ellis Library.
