All candidates for a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training must obtain official admission
to the ATEP. Students desiring admission to the ATEP must meet the following criteria:
- Declared major in Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training.
- Minimum of 30 semester hours and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50.
- Completion of the following courses with a grade of "C" or better in each: BIO 2201, BIO2203, BIO 2221, BIO 2223, HP 2013, HLTH 2513, AT 2203, AT 2201.
- Completion of one semester of directed clinical observation with 50 hours being accumulatedat Arkansas State University and completion of all assigned directed observer proficiencies.
- Completion of personal interview with program selection committee upon request.
- Submission of all program application forms to program director.
The number of appointments to the program will vary from year to year depending on
space availability, approximately 12 per class. Program application materials must be received
by April 1 of each year in order to be considered for Fall entry into the ATEP. Candidates will
be notified of their admission status after June 1 of each academic year.

Prior to taking first clinical experience course the student must hold:
1. Professional liability insurance (minimum $2,000,000/4,000,000 coverage)
2. Acceptable immunization status including TB screening
3. Completed physical examination form
