Biography

Dr. Beverly Edwards is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at Arkansas State University. She has chaired several committees which include: The Faculty Search Committee; BSW Admissions Committee; and Library Liaison. Dr. Edwards has served on numerous other departmental, university and college committees as well. She has also received grants in the areas of health care disparities affecting African American women and female homelessness in Ethiopia. Dr. Edwards continues to conduct research and submit publications in the previously mentioned areas. In addition, she teaches in her specialty areas which include: Social Welfare Policy and Services; Ethics and Social Work Practice; and Macro Social Work Practice. Her current research project focuses on a study of homeless females in Ethiopia.
