Dr. Guffey is a graduate of the Physical Therapy Program at the University of Central Arkansas. He also holds a graduate degree in exercise physiology from the University of Arkansas. His doctorate is in Educational Leadership and was awarded by Arkansas State University. He has served on the faculty of the PT Programs at UCA, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and Arkansas State University. Additionally, he served as the Dean of Health Sciences at National Park Community College.
Dr. Guffey's current research deals with the bactericidal and fungicidal effects of visible and infrared light. He is also engaged in research examining the clinical applications of light for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.
Dr. Guffey is married, has two grown children and one grandchild. He is an avid golfer.
