Biography

I have practiced nursing since 1975 and began my career in intensive care units. I came to ASU as a clinical instructor in 1979. During this time, I changed my focus to family centered nursing. Upon completion of my master's degree, I accepted a position as assistant professor of nursing with an emphasis in maternal-child nursing. I have taught in the BSN program and most recently have enjoyed working with the the students in the accelerated BSN program. In 2001, I received the ASU Board of Trustees Excellence in Teaching Award. I am married to Mike, a prosecuting attorney, have two beautiful daughters, Leigh and Erin and two handsome grandsons, Willem and Walden.
