Dr. Philip Hestand has served as ASU Counseling Center director since 2000. He has served as president of the Arkansas Counseling Association (1995), president of the Arkansas Counselor Educators and Supervisors Association (2003-2005), and president of the Arkansas College Counseling Association (2008-2009). Dr. Hestand received the Rosenthal Award for Outstanding Counselor Educator and Supervisor of the Year from the United States Marine Corps in 2002. He was appointed to the Board of Examiners in Counseling by Governor Bill Clinton for 1991-1995, and is currently appointed by Governor Mike Beebe for a second Board of Examiners term from 2012-2015.
