Melanie joined the ASU nursing faculty as Assistant Professor of Nursing in Summer 2012, primarily teaching pediatrics theory and clinical. Additionally, she teaches Foundation of Nursing in the accelerated program.
Melanie recently moved to Arkansas from Michigan where she was a Director/Trauma Program Manager for an American College of Surgeons verified Level I adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center in Flint, Michigan. She has previous experience as a clinical instructor for the university of Michigan-Flint, BSN program. Sha has over 15 years of progressive surgical-critical care and pediatric critical care experience. Her experience also includes trauma regional development, teaching advanced trauma nursing for the Trauma Nurse Core Course, Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses and a course coordinator for the Advanced Trauma Life Support through the American College of Surgeons. Melanie has a special interest in the care of the injured child and has published on early detection of PTSD in children.
