Biography

Dr. Chu received her Ph.D. from State University of New York at Albany. Her research interests lie in religion and desistance, comparative policing, and immigrants' perceptions of the police. Her scholarly work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals including Crime & Delinquency, Criminal Justice and Behavior, Policing: An International Journal of Police Strategies and Management, Internal Criminal Justice Review, Asian Journal of Criminology, Women and Criminal Justice, Family and Society and Police Quarterly. She teaches criminology, criminal justice and policing courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
