Addiction Studies

The curriculum for this certificate program is designed for both social work and non social work majors. It will equip practitioners in the assessment and treatment of addictions. It will equip practitioners in the assessment and treatment of addictions. The application of evidence based practice and the 12-step planned change process of recovery is the focus of the curriculum.

Cardiac Sonography

The Cardiac Sonography Program is designed to produce competent and compassionate entry-level sonographers for the practice of cardiac sonography. The Healthcare track is designed for applicants who have an associate’s degree in healthcare (i.e. Sonography, Radiologic Technology, Nursing, etc.).

Clinical Laboratory Sciences

The Associate of Applied Science-Clinical Laboratory Technician degree is a two-year program which permits students to achieve the status of clinical laboratory technician (CLT).

The BS-Clinical Laboratory Scientist degree is a 4-year program which provides an understanding of the theoretical and scientific fundamentals underlying the procedures involved, which include a broad based knowledge in the principles of human biology, chemistry, analytical instrumentation, and a familiarity with the educational and managerial aspects associated with one who occupies a professional role in a wide variety of settings.

Communication Disorders

The undergraduate curriculum offers students a broad base of preparation in general education requirements, the sciences associated with communication and its disorders, anatomy and physiology, and a number of basic methods courses associated with the identification and treatment of a variety of communication disorders.

The Graduate Program in Communication Disorders meets the rigorous requirements for accreditation for speech-language pathology from the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.

Dietetics

The Coordinated Program in Dietetics provides for the achievement of knowledge and performance requirements for entry-level dietitians through integration of didactic instruction with a minimum of 1200 hours of supervised practice. The program features a 'clinical' concentration, which allows students to build upon foundation knowledge and competencies for future proficiency in the clinical area of dietetics.

Physical Therapist Assistant

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program at ASU is an associate-level program. The PTA assists the Physical Therapist in patient evaluation and assessment activities, implements treatment programs according to a plan of care, trains patients in exercises and activities of daily living, conducts treatments using special equipment, administers modalities and other treatment procedures, and reports to the PT on patients’ responses to treatment.

Radiologic Technology

The Associate Degree program in radiologic technology includes both classroom instruction and experiences in the clinical setting of the health care institutions in the area. This provides students with opportunities for direct patient care involving those who are sick and injured, as well as those for whom radiologic diagnosis is indicated.

Social Work

Bachelors level social workers work with a variety of clients in many settings. The skills learned in
the curriculum include interviewing skills, assessment skills, and intervention skills. The BSW qualifies
the student to sit for the state exam at the Licensed Social Worker level.

This MSW offers one concentration which is rural based clinical social work practice. Students learn the fundamental knowledge, skills, and ethics that guide social work practice and the populations traditionally served by the profession.

Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy

The tDPT provides a program of study that bridges the educational gap between bachelor's and master's degree entry-level practitioners in physical therapy and current doctorate entry-level graduates.
