Randall Tate joined ASU in 1997 as associate dean/director of Student Union. He oversaw the expansion of student service programs, renovation of the ASU Pavilion, and was a key factor in the construction and renovation of the Reng Student Union. Since 2000, he initiated the Global Student Leader Program and has been a leader in the establishment of many traditions at ASU including Order of the Pack, ASU Pride Day, Spirit Flag, High School Leadership Conference, and Community Fair.
As dean of Student Leadership and Development, he oversaw the opening of the expanded Reng Student Union and new Leadership Center, and worked to create an employment position and later office space for the Multicultural Center. He spearheaded the planning and construction of the Red WOLF Center and related reallocation of space for associated programs. He coordinates the Student Advisory Council, comprised of top student leaders and staff.
Prior to his time at ASU, Randall worked with student services programs at SIU-E and later at University of Texas at Austin.
As Executive Director, Randall currently oversees construction and upkeep of all Student Affairs facilities. He serves on the Staff Senate Performance Awards and Recognition Committee.
