Biography

Dr. Hill is the director of graduate programs for the Neil Griffin College of Business at Arkansas State University. His Ph.D. in finance was earned at Mississippi State University.

During his tenure at the University of Mississippi and Arkansas State University, Dr. Hill has received awards and grants for his research on corporate liquidity management and corporate political connections. He has published journal articles appearing in Financial Management, Financial Review, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Research, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Journal of Real Estate Research, and Real Estate Economics, among others. Dr. Hill is co-author of Short-Term Financial Management 6th edition, a textbook covering the principles and practice of short-term financial decision making. It is used by over forty universities throughout North America and Europe.

In addition to academia, Dr. Hill also contributes to the field of finance through consulting activity. Since 2014, he has partnered with the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) to deliver corporate trainings on liquidity management, cash flow analysis/forecasting, and best practices in FP&A.  In this capacity, he has worked with Capital One, Johnson and Johnson, PNC Bank, Michelin, and Bank of Montreal, among other institutions. Dr. Hill was co-editor of the Essentials of Treasury Management 5th edition, which constituted the body of knowledge for the CTP examination between 2017 and 2020. He also serves as a subject matter expert for the CFA Institute.

Dr. Hill also proudly applies his financial acumen to community service. He serves on the budget committee for Highland Drive Baptist Church, the board of directors for Ridgefield Christian School, and the board of directors for RidgePointe Country Club.
