The inaugural Fundraiser for the Department of Music with the Rockley Family Foundation occurred in December of 2017. The primary focus of this ongoing collaborative relationship with the Department of Music is to raise funds for the growth of A-State music programs and an expansive outreach program. Priority is being given to student scholarships as well as the means to support a “town and gown” effort with appropriate instruments and faculty. The Rockley Foundation will come to campus late in the fall each year to sell a wide variety of musical instruments in support of this cause. Each year, a large selection of grand pianos, baby grands, digital player grands, vertical (upright) pianos, digital pianos and orchestral strings will be available. The events feature instruments from such famous makers as Yamaha, Bösendorfer, Pramberger, Pearl River, Stravari Fine Violins, a discrete selection of vintage Steinway & Sons pianos, and many more. Most instruments are less than one-year old, include a new factory warranty, are tuned, and ready to go. Delivery and special no-interest financing is available on site. In most cases, a substantial portion of purchases is considered as a charitable contribution to the Rockley Family Foundation and may be tax deductible. Event runs 12/5/19 at 8:00 am until 12/7/19 at 5:00 pm.
Our students are engaged in a wide range of academic pursuits that include degree programs in 160 undergraduate and graduate fields delivered by 6 different colleges.
