Reimagining the Limited Archive by Dr. Richard M. Mizelle Jr.

04/26/2017, 8:00 PM

Humanities and Social Science Building, Room 1028

Historian and author Dr. Richard M. Mizelle Jr. will deliver the Delta Symposium’s keynote address Wednesday, April 26, at 8 p.m. in room 1028 of the university’s Humanities and Social Science building.

This presentation concludes the event, as it was rescheduled due to inclement weather earlier this month.

His work on social history and blues culture coincides with the theme of this spring's Delta Symposium XXIII, "Caring for Community." His presentation will include discussion of a range of his scholarship, and the talk is titled “Reimagining the Limited Archive.”

Mizelle is an associate professor of history at the University of Houston. His teaching and research interests focus on the history of race and medicine, medicine and society, environmental history and technology, and the civil rights movement in modern America.

Mizelle’s presentation is free and open to the public and supported by KASU, A-State Heritage Studies Ph.D. Program, and the Delta Symposium.
