Students in the University Men’s and Women’s Choirs will present their spring concert.  The Department of Music groups are under the direction of Cherie Collins, adjunct professor at A-State.

The University Men’s Chorus will open their portion of the program with Aaron Copland’s “Zion’s Walls.” They will follow with “Jesu Dulcis Memoria” by Victoria, directed by student conductor Hal Niederbrach.  The men will also sing “Reconciliation” by Stephen Chatman, accompanied by Max Hughes on the flugelhorn.

They will be premiering a new work by student composer Aaron Fisher, titled “I Will.”  The University Men will close their program with “Trinkled” by Schubert, and “What Shall We Do with a Drunken Sailor” arranged by Shaw and Parker.  Their last two pieces will be directed by graduate assistant Matt Crociata.

The University Women will then take the stage and open their portion of the program with “O Pastorelle, Addio” by Giordano and arranged by Serposs and “God Be in My Head” by Berkey.  Student conductor Ivory Wells will then direct “There Will Come Soft Rains” by Memley.  The chorus will be joined by Dr. Dan Ross, oboist, for this piece.

The women will then sing “Reel a’ Bouche” by Dalglish and accompanied on hammer dulcimer by Carolyn Mason.  This piece will be directed by student conductor Kiera Payne.  Their program will close with another piece by Aaron Fisher titled, “Shine on Me.”
