The Department of English, Philosophy, and World Languages at Arkansas State University will host the twenty-third annual Delta Symposium on April 5-8, 2017. The Delta Symposium features scholarship on a wide variety of expressive forms and will present work from multidisciplinary approaches including literary criticism, cultural studies, history, anthropology, folklore, ethnomusicology, sociology, speech communication, and heritage studies. The event features research in the humanities and social sciences, resonant with this year's theme of “Caring for Community.”
The 2017 event includes a number of unique partnerships, including:
• The Delta Flix Film and Media Festival, featuring special presentations by filmmakers, photographers, and multimedia artists.
• “Dylan Day” – Scholarship in Honor of Frances Hunter will be held on Saturday, featuring research and multimedia presentations exploring Dylan’s artistry and life history.
• The Arkansas Roots Music Festival will commence on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and continues through the support from KASU FM 91.9.
• Screening of featured film “In Country” on Thursdayevening Carl R. Reng Center
