Campus Activities Continue Today

Campus activities will continue today, including Dean B. Ellis Library opening at noon, women's basketball this afternoon at 2 p.m. and the Delta Symphony Concert at Fowler Center.

With up to a 1/4 inch of ice on trees around campus, please use caution as the ice begins to fall from trees and elevated surfaces. Many tree limbs have fallen, and during today, more will fall with the ice load in the wind.

While the icy landscape looks pretty, please stay away from low hanging branches and watch out for persistent icy patches on the ground.

Bill and Alice Nix Petting Zoo

04/14/2018, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Location: Other
Other: Farm Animal Science Complex, 3615 Hereford Dr.

We will be open to the public on Saturday, April 14, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  Call 972-3941 for information or email pettingzoo@AState.edu

Animals on display in the zoo have been sheep, miniature donkeys, miniature horses, deer, ducks, chickens, pigs, llamas, bottle fed calves, turkeys, cats, dogs, goats, and rabbits.  We try to have as many young offspring of the animals as we can, so the children can pet both the adult and baby animals.    Long lines also wait outside the chick, duckling, and baby bunny petting areas.

In the Spring of 2008, the name was officially changed to the Bill and Alice Nix Petting Zoo.  The Nixes’ children have created an endowment to assist in supporting this endeavor.  Their generosity has helped raise funds for general improvement of the facilities.
