Individuals with an A-STATE Glacier Account

Glacier Tax Prep (GTP) is web bases tax preparation software designed to help Nonresident Aliens prepares a U.S federal Nonresident Alien Income Tax Return (Form 1040NR-EZ) and Form 8843.

Individuals who had a Glacier account provided by Arkansas State during 2017 may access GTP directly though their existing Glacier account id they wish to obtain free access to the GTP software.

Free access to GTP will be made available to individuals affiliated with Arkansas State in February. They will be notified at that time by email. 

Once notified of GTP availability, individuals will be able to log into GTP through their regular Glacier account using the following steps:

  • Login at: https://www.glaciertax.com/Login
  • Select the GTP module from the Glacier menu screen
  • Individuals will also be able to print Form 1042-S through Glacier.

Individuals who do not remember the login or password for their regular Glacier account should select LOGIN, then FORGOT LOGIN. Once they enter the email address associated with their Glacier account and submit their request, they will receive an email containing Glacier access information.

Returns prepared through GTP are not electronically submitted to the IRS. Each individual must print, sign and mail their federal tax return to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) by the April 16, 2018 tax filing deadline.

Federal tax returns (Forms 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ), Form 8843, and state tax returns should not be submitted to Arkansas State University.

Individuals with questions while preparing their tax return through GTP should contact the GTP support team. Help links are available on all pages within the GTP website. Individuals who do not wish to use GTP to prepare their federal income tax return may obtain tax forms and more information directly from the Internal Revenue Service website.

Arkansas State student employees can obtain their Tax Summary Report though your Glacier Payroll Account. This report will provide your tax residency status to help you determine what status to file your taxes under. Individuals Without an A-STATE Glacier Account

Individuals who did not have a Glacier account through Arkansas State during 2017 may request access to GTP to prepare a federal tax return. For further details on the request click here.

Arkansas Tax Return

Glacier GTP cannot prepare Arkansas Tax Return forms!! To prepare your 2017 Arkansas State Tax Return choose one of the following forms:

AR1000F Full Year Resident Individual Income Tax Return - lived in Arkansas more than six months

AR1000NR Part-Year or Nonresident Individual Income Tax Return lived in Arkansas less than six months, or lives outside of Arkansas but receives Income from Arkansas

AR1000S Full Year Resident Short-Form Income Tax Return - use only if you lived in Arkansas for 12 months; see instructions if you qualify to use the short form

Go to https://www.dfa.arkansas.gov/income-tax/individual-income-tax/ 

Look for the correct form and instructions. You can also find the “tax table”.

Attach form W-2 Copy for state tax and or 1042-S copy D to your Arkansas Tax Return. Mail them to the state tax department.

If you complete from AR1000NR, you should attach your Federal tax forms 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ and 8843.
