Direct Deposit

Arkansas State University offers students the option of direct deposit of their excess financial aid, scholarship and tuition refunds. Students who participate in this program have the convenience of having their funds credited to their checking and/or savings accounts.

Log into myCampus. Click on the following:

  • SSB Self-Service
  • Student
  • Student Records
  • myBill
  • eRefunds tab
  • Set Up Account
  • Choose your account type (Checking or Savings)
  • Enter routing number (consist of 9 digits)
  • Enter account number and confirm
  • Save

ASU does not manually distribute excess financial aid, scholarships or refunds to students. For students who choose not to participate in the direct deposit program, refund checks will be mailed to their billing address the student has entered in Banner Self Service. It is very important that all students update their billing address in Banner Self Service for this purpose.

Frequently Asked Questions

As an employee, my payroll direct deposit allocation is active. Does this mean I automatically have direct deposit for my student refund or travel reimbursements? No, the payroll allocation is separate from student refunds and travel reimbursements. To activate direct deposit for student refunds, follow the instructions on this web page: http://www.astate.edu/a/treasurer/finaid-refunds/index.dot. What does direct deposit mean? Direct deposit means any payments made to you will be direct deposited into your checking or savings account or your ASTATE OneCard. 

Can I deposit to more than one account? No. A direct deposit can only be made to one account.

How do I find the bank routing number? Every bank has a unique routing number. The routing number is a 9-digit number and is usually found at the bottom left side of your checks. If you are unsure of your bank's routing number, you can call and obtain it from the bank.

How soon will my excess refund be credited to my bank account? Refunds will be credited to your account once your financial aid has been distributed by the Financial Aid Office and your financial obligations to the university have been met.

How will I know the money has been credited to my bank account? You will need to contact your bank to see if the money was credited to your account. If you have internet banking capability, you may also check online. "Crediting" your bank account means money was put into your account.

What if I do not have a bank account? You can activate and upgrade your ASTATE OneCard to be used for direct deposit. For more information, please consult the ID Center home page: http://www.astate.edu/a/student-accounts/id-center/.

Can I send my direct deposit to a bank account other than my own? Yes.

Can ASU debit my bank account? By agreeing to direct deposit your account, you are agreeing that ASU can "debit" entries to adjust for any credit entries made in error. "Debiting" means taking money out of your bank account.

Am I required to receive direct deposit or can I still receive a paper check for my student refund? Direct deposit is optional. ASU does not manually distribute excess financial aid, scholarships or refunds to students. For students who choose not to participate in the direct deposit program, refund checks will be mailed to their billing address that exists in Banner Self Service. It is very important that all students update their billing address in Banner Self Service for this purpose.

Will my refund be deposited into my bank account on the first day of classes if I activate direct depositAny excess financial aid will be direct deposited only after the Financial Aid Office has distributed your aid and your account is paid in full.

Who do I call if I have questions about the direct deposit option? You may call 870-972-2285 or visit the Student Accounts Office located in the Student Union on the Jonesboro campus.

How far in advance do I need to complete this authorization to get my refund check direct deposited instead of a paper check?

Authorizations must be completed two weeks prior to the beginning of the semester to ensure direct deposit within the first week of the term.

I received a refund check. Why didn't I receive my payment through direct deposit? You may have activated your direct deposit after the university ran checks for the day, or there may be a problem with your direct deposit setup. Contact 870-972-2285 for student assistance and 870-972-3454 for employee assistance.

How long does it take for my student direct deposit to be verified? It takes six days for your direct deposit to be verified. Once the verification process is completed the status will display as “verified – ready to use”.
