Direct Deposit

Arkansas State University offers students the option of direct deposit of their excess financial aid, scholarship and tuition refunds. Students who participate in this program have the convenience of having their funds credited to their checking and/or savings accounts.

Download the direct deposit authorization form >>

Students may either mail the authorization to the address noted on the form, or drop it off at the Cashiers Window located on the second floor of the Student Union building. Please attach a voided check. If you have questions or need assistance, you may also call 972-2381 or 972-3117.

Check Reimbursement

ASU does not manually distribute excess financial aid, scholarships or refunds to students. For students who choose not to participate in the direct deposit program, refund checks will be mailed to their billing address the student has entered in Banner Self Service. It is very important that all students update their billing address in Banner Self Service for this purpose.

Direct deposit means a check will not be issued for a student financial aid or other type of refund, travel, or purchase reimbursement. Rather, the funds will be directly deposited into your checking or savings account.

No. A direct deposit can only be made to one account.

How do I find the bank routing number?

Every bank has a unique routing number. The routing number is a 9-digit number and is usually found at the bottom left side of your checks. If you are unsure of your bank's routing number, you can call and obtain it from the bank.

How soon will my excess refund be credited to my bank account?

Refunds will be credited to your account once your financial aid has been distributed by the Financial Aid Office and your financial obligations to the university have been met.

How will I know the money has been credited to my bank account?

You will need to contact your bank to see if the money was credited to your account. If you have internet banking capability, you may also check online.

What is meant by "crediting" my bank account?

"Crediting" your bank account means money was put into your account.

What if I do not have a bank account?

You cannot have your refund direct deposited without either a checking or savings account.

I signed up for direct deposit this semester. Do I have to sign up again next semester?

No, a direct deposit consent form remains in effect as long as you are in school. Remember however, that if your checking or savings account information changes or you change financial institutions, you must change your direct deposit authorization agreement to reflect the new account number and bank routing information.

If I sign up for direct deposit, will my refund be deposited into my bank account on the first day of classes?
