Global Student Leader Program

The Global Student Leader (GSL) Program rewards the most outstanding student leaders at A-State with a once in a lifetime opportunity. This program advanced the proposition, in the A-State mission statement at the time GSL began, that A-State prepares students in challenging and diverse ways to become more productive global citizens. The program began in 2000, and GSL has provided 84 students the opportunity to experience the diversity of 25 different countries on five continents. More information >>

Mossie Richmond - Afak Haydar Scholars

The Richmond-Haydar Memorial Scholarship for International Students was endowed by family and friends of the late Dr. Mossie J. Richmond, Jr., former vice president for Student Affairs, and Dr. Afak Haydar, former director of International Programs, at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Dr. Richmond and Dr. Haydar were instrumental in the establishment of programs and opportunities for international students at ASU-Jonesboro during the 1980s and 1990s. Scholarships are awarded annually to international students who demonstrate academic excellence and leadership, both inside and outside the classroom. More information >>

Wilson Award / Distinguished Service Awards

The Wilson Award is presented annually at the Student Honors Awards ceremony to the university's outstanding graduating senior. The recipient is selected on the basis of character, determination, involvement, and academic achievement. It is from the Distinguished Student Award winners that the Wilson Award winner is selected. This honor is bestowed in memory of R. E. Lee Wilson, a member of the Arkansas State University Board of Trustees from 1917 until his death in 1933.
