• What do I do once I have received confirmation that I have been admitted?
Once you have applied and been admitted you should watch your mail box for your acceptance packet and invitation to New Student Registration. At New Student Registration, you’ll become more familiar with campus, meet with faculty and students, and register for your classes.
• How do I submit my official ACT/SAT/ASSET/COMPASS scores?
Request your official test scores be sent to the Office of Admissions, Records and Registration. These are typically handled through your high school counseling office or through the testing service where the exam was administered.
• How do I submit my high school transcript?
After you graduate remember to request your official final high school transcript be sent to the Office of Admissions, Records and Registration. This is typically handled through your high school counseling office.
• How do I submit my MMR shot records?
Make sure your MMR shot record is on file with the Office of Admissions, Records and Registration. These are typically submitted by your high school.
• How do I check the status of my application?
At any time you can go online and check your admission status! To check your application status, you need to visit the online web application that you used to apply. Once there, you will be given the prompt to log in and enter a PIN. Use the login and PIN you created when completing your application online. If you cannot remember your PIN, please contact the Office of Admissions, Records and Registration at (870) 972-2031.
• How do I make sure that A-State will count my college hours earned in high school through concurrent credit?
If you took concurrent classes remember to request an official college transcript be sent to the Office of Admissions, Records and Registration from the hosting college.
• How do I apply for housing at A-State?
A-State offers a variety of housing options for students. Unless you are living at home with a guardian, you are required to live on campus. There are limited spaces available. Make sure you apply early, because assignments are made on a first come, first served basis. Contact the Office of Residence Life at (870) 972-2042.
• How do I apply for scholarships and financial aid?
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. If you have questions about the FAFSA, please contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at (870) 972-2310. Arkansas State University’s school code is 001090.
Your admissions application is also your application for institutional scholarships. There is a separate application process for our privately funded scholarships. One private scholarship application covers most of the scholarships for which you may be qualified. For more information, contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships
• Why should I bring an iPad or mobile device?
Arkansas State University embraces the use of mobile technology as part of students’ overall marketplace readiness. We strongly encourage incoming students to bring a mobile device (e.g., an iPad) for use in the classroom, with study management and to help with their campus connections. The A-State ITStore can be helpful in this selection.
- Students have access to the maximum amount of A-state digital resources through iTunes U (only available on iOS devices - iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch) and iBooks (only available on Apple computers, iPads, and iPhones).
- Many A-State faculty and staff are trained in iPad instruction and usage
- A-State offers repairs and support for iPad & Apple computers at the on campus IT Store
- A-State offers iPad required courses. Having an iPad would give students opportunities to take iPad required courses.
- Students have access to computer labs, therefore iPads give them a resources for anytime anywhere learning.

• How do I get my OFFICIAL transcript?
Instructions on how to order copies of your official transcript can be found on the Transcripts website.
• Where can I find my UNOFFICIAL transcript?
You can view your unofficial transcript in Self Service.
• Can I get a copy of another school's transcript?
No. Transcripts from other institutions, either presented for admissions or evaluation of credit, become part of the student's permanent record and cannot be released. These transcripts must be requested from the original school.
• How do I obtain a copy of my shot records?
Immunization records may be requested in person or by mail for a $2.00 charge per copy. Some former students' immunization records may not be available from our office
• I have transfer work. Where can I get my overall GPA?
Overall GPA is located on your transcript. You can view your unofficial transcript online in Self Service.
• Where do I get a letter of good standing?
Letters of good standing are no longer issued. Academic standing is printed on transcripts.
• Where can I get my test scores?
Test scores may be requested in person or by mail for a $2.00 charge per copy. Some former students' test scores may not be available from our office and not all test scores are available for every student.

• Where can I find a list of the important dates?

• What do I do if I'm coming back?
Undergraduate students will need to contact Undergraduate Admissions at (870) 972-2031 to readmit if it has been over a year since last attending A-State. If it has not been over a year, undergraduate students can register like normal in Self Service after being cleared by an advisor.
Graduate students must readmit and need to contact Graduate Admissions at (870) 972-2031.
• How do I obtain In-State Residency?
You'll need to complete an Application for Residency Classification as In-State Domiciliary.
• Where can I find the course schedules?
There's two ways to find the course schedule. If you're a student log in to Self Service and click 'Student', 'Student Records', and 'Class Schedule'. If you aren't a student you can access a read-only version of the course schedule by following the link below.
• How do I add or drop a class?
Information on adding and dropping courses can be found on the Adding & Dropping Classes website.
• Where can I get a copy of my class schedule?
You can view your class schedule in Self Service. Once logged in, click 'Student', 'Registration', and 'Student Detail Schedule'.
• Where can I view my grades?
Midterm grades can be viewed in Self Service as soon as they are posted by the faculty. To view midterm grades in Self Service, go to 'Student', 'Student Records', and then 'Midterm Grades'.
Final grades will not be viewable until ALL grades have been posted. Students will receive an email when grades are available for viewing. To view final grades in Self Service, go to 'Student', 'Student Records', and then 'Academic Transcript'.
• How do I replace a grade?
Information about grade replacement can be found on the Repeating Courses website.
• How do I withdraw from the University?
Information on withdrawing from the University can be found on the Withdrawals website.
• How do I change my major?
To change your major go to the department of the major you're changing to and meet with an advisor. They'll submit a Change of Major form on your behalf.
• Where can I obtain proof of enrollment?
Students can access their enrollment verification online in Self Service. Once logged in, click 'Student', 'Student Records' and 'Enrollment Verification through Student Clearinghouse'. Enrollment verification letters can also be picked up in person in the Office of Admissions, Records and Registration.
Enrollment verification letters are commonly used for:
- Loan Deferments
- Assistance Programs
• How do I change my name?
Fill out a Student Name Change form and return it to the Office of the Registrar with a copy of your marriage license, divorce decree, or other legal documentation OR a copy each of your driver's license and social security card.
If you are an employee, including part-time student worker or work study, you need to contact Human Resources at (870) 972-3454.
• How do I change my address?
Log in to Self Service and click 'Personal Information' and 'Update Addresses and Phones'.
• Where do I go to get VA information?
Our office has a VA representative to help with VA benefits. More information, including contact information, can be found on the Veterans website.
