Welcome to Arkansas State University!

Favorite Place on Campus: The HPESS! Known as Health, Physical Education, and Sports Sciences. This is the building I spent most of my academic career in  and houses some of the great amenities that we have on campus. The HPESS houses two basketball courts, a cardio room, an archery room, gymnastic and dance studio, and a swimming pool. The HPESS is a great place to go when you need a break from class and it houses interesting classes to take as an elective.

Favorite Campus Event: United Way Day of Caring is one of my favorite campus events, because it goes beyond the campus and into the community. This is a day when organizations and offices on campus pick an business or organization in the community to give back to. The students, faculty and staff of A-State giving back to the community that supports us every day is what makes this event so special to me!

Free Time Activities: I love to catch up on shows and find new shows to watch on Netflix and Hulu. I love spending time with my sorority sisters and getting involved in the community through my sorority.

Favorite Place to Eat in Jonesboro: El Acapulco! I love Mexican food. If you ever ask me to recommend a place to eat 9 times out 10 it will be Mexican. El Acapulco has a great and inexpensive menu that works well with a college student budget, and they also have an A-State discount!

Most Interesting Class You Took in College: Child Psychology! This class was very interesting because it looked at why adolescents do the things they do, and how and why we develop certain beliefs. I really enjoyed this class. It kept my full attention. We also learned how to wash our hands correctly in this class. Fun Fact of the semester!

#1 Piece of Advice for Prospective Students: Always keep you priorities in line and be prepared to have to balance school, work and a social life. In college sometimes it becomes difficult to balance school and a social life. Remember work hard first and play later. There is always time for enjoyment after your work is done. Do not forget why you came to college. The ultimate goal is to graduate!
