ROTC Scholarships

4-Year Scholarships

The high-school Four-Year Scholarship is for high-school students planning on attending a four-year college program. Contact your high-school academic advisor or get in touch with us using our Contact Us link for more information.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen
  • Be between the ages of 17 and 26
  • Have a High School GPA of at least 2.50
  • Have a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Score a miminum of 920 on the SAT (math/verbal) or 19 on the ACT (excluding the required writing test scores)
  • Meet physical standards
  • Agree to accept a commission and serve an eight-year commitment in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component (Army Reserve or Army National Guard

High-School students can apply for a 4-year Army ROTC Scholarship which will pay for their entire college education. You can apply online for an Army ROTC Scholarship. First, you will need to create a MY GOARMY account. Once created, you will be redirected to the MY GOARMY LogIn page. Upon successful LogIn, you can use your newly created account information to LogIn to the scholarship application site. Students should plan to apply at the beginning of their senior year, although the Initial Application deadline is 10 January. All updates are required to be postmarked by 28 February. If you submit an application via the Internet, you do not need to submit a hard-copy application as well.

2, 3 and 4-Year Scholarships

ASU Army ROTC provides 2, 3, or 4-year scholarships to college students who seek commissions as Second Lieutenants in the Army (Active Duty, Army National Guard, or Army Reserve). These scholarships are offered to qualified students, and covers 100% of your tuition and fees, up to $1200/yr for books and $420 a month in stipends to help with living expenses. Dedicated National Guard (DEDNG) Scholarships

There is no limit to the number of scholarships given out each year in every State and U.S. territory. This scholarship covers the full tuition. Recipients also receive up to $1,200 for books and are paid an allowance for up to 10 months of the year ($420) for each year. Graduate students can also apply if they have only two years remaining until they graduate.

In addition to a monthly allowance, Soldiers can also receive the drill pay of a Sergeant, approximately $250 per month, when participating in the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP).

Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty (GRFD) Scholarships

This scholarship is similar to the DEDNG scholarship, but is mainly for students entering their junior year of college with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Soldiers also must join the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) of a Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) Unit on their campus. GRFD recipients are funded each year at full tuition and receive $1,200 for books. Soldiers are given an ROTC allowance for 10 months of the year ($420 per month during their junior and senior years). As a member of the reserves, Soldiers also receive drill pay.
