Biography

After graduation from the University of Tennessee and certification from the American Nursing Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Mrs. Shelton practiced in the role at a rural health clinic meeting the health care needs of patients with acute and chronic common illnesses for 15 years. In 2005, Mrs. Shelton began teaching community health nursing in the undergraduate nursing program. Through her pre-tenure as an instructor, she has transitioned to the family nurse practitioner tract of the graduate program where she currently teaches clinical practicum, advanced health assessment and didactic courses.
