The General Education Committee requests your participation in a program that is specifically designed to foster cross-disciplinary exchange and collaboration. This Trading Classes Initiative aims at pairing Gen Ed instructors across disciplines. These paired instructors would then trade classes for a set number of times each semester (e.g., trade classes three times) to address common themes across the shared disciplines. In addition and at the discretion of both instructors, these paired instructors may link curriculum, assign readings in common across sections, and perhaps even occasionally schedule meetings in common to bring both classes together for a co-facilitated discussion.
Instructors wishing to participate in the Trading Classes Initiative can meet with other interested faculty during one of the Colleague Collaboration sessions as a part of this year's Summer Institute. These sessions will provide space and time for faculty to share ideas or collaborate with colleagues on future projects. Faculty may also use this time as a mentoring opportunity. Creative Commons members are encouraged to attend.
