Art Scholarship

• The scholarship applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student with a minimum of six hours in the Department of Art.

• Scholarships are awarded for one academic year, in the amount of $1000, $2000, $3000 or $4000.

• The scholarship is not continuing. Students must re-apply each spring.

• Recipients must have a 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. and a 3.5 G.P.A. in all work with an Art (ART/ARTH/ARED) prefix.

• Two (2) letters of recommendation.

• Incoming freshman are required to have a minimum composite score of 24 on the ACT.

• All applicants are required to submit a portfolio for review.

• A copy of a current transcript and one or more letters of recommendation from faculty must accompany the portfolio.

• The portfolio should include 15-20 pieces of the applicants best work in any media. It should be contained in a sturdy, easy to open and close, container. The portfolio may also be submitted on a CD/DVD. Each piece submitted must be labeled with the applicants name and address.

• It is the responsibility of the scholarship applicant to provide all transcripts and supporting material to the scholarship committee. The application must be complete and on time. Application forms can be picked up in the Department of Art office.
