I am new to ASU-J, what training do I need?

A.

Within the first 30 days of employment, all employees are required to complete the following: Sexual Misconduct, Child Maltreatment Reporting, and Privacy and Security training; all offered online through Blackboard Learn.

What does EL&IE stand for?

A.

Where do I register?

The easiest way to register is online through the HR Scheduler, email or call EL&IE. ProfDevTraining@astate.edu; 870-680-4785.

Will I get a confirmation after registering?

A.

After your registration is received, you will then receive a confirmation by email.

Q.

What is required/compliance training?

A.

Compliance training is training required of all university employees as designated by administration and state agency.

Q.

How do I know if I am in compliance with my training?

A.

For compliance training, you can visit BBlearn and view your gradebook to see if you have completed the required trainings. In addition, you can contact EL&IE for compliance updates.

As a manager, how do I now if my employees have completed compliance training?

A.

You may contact EL&IE for an update.

Q.

Is ASU's EL&IE trainings free?

A.

Yes, all professional development & training is free of charge to faculty and staff of ASU-J.

How do we gain approval to attend training?

A.

It is the responsibility of employees to gain approval to attend any trainings during work hours.

Q.

Where will training be located?

A.

Training opportunities will be held in various locations around campus to provide equal access to all employees. Please refer to locations on the scheduler.

Where do I find training offerings?

A.

You can find all training offerings by looking at the HR Scheduler thorough the EL&IE website.

Q.

Are there any continuing education credits/units (CEUs) for any courses?

A.

At the present, we are not offering any CEUs.

Q.

What happens if I cannot attend the training session?

A.

As a courtesy, please let our office know that you will not be able to attend the training session 48 hours before the session. Substitutions are allowed.

Are the training rooms handicap accessible?

A.

Yes, However, for better accommodations, please call the training office at least three days prior to the training event.

Q.

How long do trainings usually last?

A.

Many trainings will be scheduled for 1 hr, 1 1/2 hr, up to 3 hours.

Are all trainings online?

A.

No, Many trainings are offered both face-to-face and online.

How do I access my training records?

A.

Our department maintains records of your training through reports in HR Scheduler and Banner Training. Contact EL&IE for updated training records.

Q.

How will the evaluations be administered?

A.

All evaluations will be administered online, even if the training is instructor-led.

Q.

What if the text on my screen is too small?

A.

Use the view menu at the top of the browser window to adjust the font size.

Q.

Will I still receive class reminders the day before I am scheduled for training?

A.

At the present, there is not an automatic reminder system, we suggest that you please add the training to your outlook calendar and set a reminder.

What if I have specific questions that are not answered on the website?

A.

Our staff is available to answer all your questions. Our contact information is listed on the webpage.

Q.

There is a class that I am interested in taking that you are not offering this month. How do I know when it will be offered again?

A.

We are always pleased to accommodate our customers in anyway we can. If you are interested in taking a class that is not currently offered, email us and notify us directly.

I am locked out of my BBlearn account, what should I do?

A.
