VPAT Approval Process

Prior to submitting paperwork to us, please ensure that you are requesting approval for the most accessible software/web application to your knowledge.  Please provide the names of at least 2 other software packages/web applications that were evaluated and why you chose the package you are submitting.  Always ask a vendor to supply a VPAT.

Approval Process for Software, Cloud/Web Application, and Websites with a vendor supplied VPAT:

  1. Request Completed VPAT  from the vendor
  2. Complete the appropriate ASU VPAT Testing Checklist
  3. Complete the Disability Services VPAT Assessment form

  4. Scan all documents and send to Disability Services via email (VPATS@astate.edu )  

 

Approval Process for Software, Cloud/Web Application, and Websites without a VPAT:

  1. Request Completed VPAT  from the vendor
  2. If the VPAT is not available from the vendor complete the ASU Disability Services Product Accessibility Report.
  3. Complete the appropriate ASU VPAT Testing Checklist
  4. Scan all documents and send to Disability Services via email (VPATS@astate.edu )

 

Approval Process for  Hardware and other technology products or services with a vendor supplied VPAT:

  1. Request Completed VPAT  from the vendor
  2. Send Completed VPAT to ITS and Procurement

 

Approval Process for Hardware and other technology products or services without a VPAT:

  1. Request Completed VPAT  from the vendor
  2. If the VPAT is not available from the vendor contact Disability Services at 3964
