Summer Camp Academy

Summer Camp Academy at A-State Continuing Education and Community Outreach (CECO) is for ages 3-18.  We strive to provide fun, educational programs for our growing youth by providing students with a variety of activities including art, literature, drama and creative play, and STEM fields throughout the year focusing on the summer months.  Our teachers are dedicated to helping children build self-confidence, advance academic skills, and experience new and exciting ways of learning.

Half day camps for Rising PreK-12.  Registration begins March 3rd. Scholarship applications will not be accepted till March 3rd. You can find the appropriate application forms on the left hand side of the screen.  Please note that the forms cannot be submitted online using Google Chrome.

Advanced Placement Summer Institute

During the summer of 2014, ASU will offer 12 courses for AP and Pre AP training.  This Institute will be held at the Arkansas State University campus in Jonesboro.  A certificate of completion for 30 hours will be issued to each teacher who attends the entire institute and has paid fees in full. July 14, 2014 - July 17, 2014.

Young Chef’s Academy - CLOSED               

4th-7th                  8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.                        $100

Join us for a week of fun cooking and baking kid friendly recipes in our own test kitchen. You will learn to make plenty of kid friendly recipes - from pizza to rock candy. All  junior chefs will take home a personal, bound recipe book with all the recipes from the week. Chef’s will also create their own apron to take home at the end of the week.

Choose the recipes, test the recipes, and put them into your own cookbook! We will cook and bake in our recipe test kitchen!  Have fun creating new recipes and learn how to make your favorite recipes more nutritious.  By the end of the week you will have many new recipes to include in your own custom designed cookbooks that you take home and share with your family.

Beginners Fitness

This camp is an introduction to fitness.  Campers will learn the importance of staying active, and ways to incorporate fitness activities and exercises into their daily lives that will help to keep them strong, committed, and healthy while still having fun and spending time with friends.

Want to know more about your body and its functions? A different concept will be explored daily, followed by hands-on construction and activities. Peer sharing and teamwork will be incorporated.

Super Hero Training Camp

Calling all Super Heroes! During this week we will train and work on our super hero powers.  We will also develop our own super hero names, make our costumes and maybe even visit with a special super hero!

Students learn by having fun with superb technology instruction and unique projects created with real programming languages or industry multimedia software. Kids come to explore technology with personal attention, excitement and creativity rarely found elsewhere.

Reading Fun with Eric Carle

Join us for some summer reading fun by diving into the wonderful books by author Eric Carle! Each day we will dive into another class book, such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar or The Mixed Up Chameleon!. This Camp is to show children how fun reading can be through crafts and activities, while allowing them to dig deeper into the story behind the book. Come join the fun and learning!

Feel like you’re inside the famous New York City museum with this hands-on modern art adventure!  Each day we will learn about an artist and their unique techniques before recreating their style with a variety of unexpected materials.   Photography, food, collage, cans and candy are just a few of the mediums that will help us build our own gallery!  Become the next modern art master with help from friends like Picasso, Muniz and Pollock!
