Ricky Marshall Establishes Scholarship Endowment for Outstanding Students at Arkansas State
JONESBORO – Ricky Marshall remembers well the positive experiences he had at Arkansas State, and now he is taking steps to give today’s students similar support.
Through a generous donation to the university, Marshall has established the Ricky Marshall Endowed Scholarship.
In order to assist those who might have circumstances similar to his own, he has designated the scholarship award for students who have completed their freshman year and need financial assistance.
Marshall, who now lives in Jonesboro, recalls the help he received from a number of people when he enrolled at Arkansas State.
“The university, the educators, the organizations, and the friends are what made me into the person I am today,” he said. Marshall now serves as director of business analytics for Teleflora in Paragould.
Marshall earned his bachelor of science degree in computer information systems through the A-State College of Business in 1993. He also was a member of Sigma Pi fraternity.
“Ricky Marshall is one of Arkansas State’s model alumni, recognizing the value of his experience here by reaching back to assist upcoming students,” said Dr. Tim Hudson, chancellor. “Scholarship opportunities like the one Ricky has established can be vital to help keep students on track for successful completion of a degree.”
Marshall’s generosity is supportive of Arkansas State University’s mission to educate leaders, enhance intellectual growth, and enrich lives, Hudson added.
A-State students may apply for the scholarship through the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. More information about scholarships is available on A-State’s website at http://www.astate.edu/a/finaid/.
