Arkansas State University will remain closed on Thursday, March 5 due to incoming winter weather. This includes the main campus at Jonesboro and the Paragould center.
The university reminds students to monitor their official Arkansas State student email account for information regarding classes, as explained in an announcement from Provost Lynita Cooksey.

Lynda Franco has been an educator for over 35 years. During that time, she has worked as a content teacher, ESOL teacher, Spanish teacher, and bilingual teacher, and has taught all grades pre-K through grade 12 as well as adult learners. Class she taught included language development classes; content-based, sheltered ESOL vocational classes; undergraduate courses and graduate courses; both in the United States and abroad.
Lynda has been an administrator of programs and a bilingual trainer of teachers for 25 years. She has led seminars for university faculty and has trained teachers across the nation. She is a published author of teacher training materials, classroom materials, and children’s books. At the Colorado State Department of Education, she formerly served as Special Projects Director and Assistant Director of the English Language Acquisition Unit. Lynda also has worked for 15 years as an education consultant throughout the US assisting school districts and schools in creating programs and meeting the needs of their linguistically diverse populations.
