Biography

Dr. Sivakumar joined the Arkansas State University faculty in 2007. He is internationally recognized in the field of bioprocessing of colchicine and a pioneer in industrial-scale bioreactor for pharmaceuticals production. He has over 40 publications. He is also on the editorial board of several journals. He serves as an expert of grant proposals as well as numerous scientific journals. Sivakumar’s lab focuses on metabolic engineering of colchicine pathway and developing new anticancer molecules.

His lab also is the first one in the world to establish an advanced bioreactor technology to produce Gloriosa-based pharmaceutical colchicine.
